Amsterdam

From the sixties on, Amsterdam has been on the forefront of liberalization and therefore the gay life. Although the scene slowly transformes from a leather savvy place to a more trendy environment, it has not lost a bit of its charm.  The city hosts a number of events such as the gay pride with the unique canal pride, the gay games and the queens day (30th April), which always attract international guests. If you look for leather bars, you should head to Warmoesstraat and Kerkstraat. For the more trendy scene check out the places around Regulierwardsstraat.

Where to stay: If you look for a hotel, make sure to stay in the center or around Leidseplein area, to avoid the normality of the suburbs which would ruin your fantasy about Amsterdam with its romatic canals.
